250-Foot Tall High-Rise Planned For Downtown Brooklyn
Developer Avery Hall Investments filed plans to build the 122-unit building at the former Brooklyn Law School complex on Boerum Place.

DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN, NY — A developer plans to build a 250-foot tall high-rise building at the former Brooklyn Law School complex on Boerum Place.
Avery Hall Investments filed plans last week to build the 21-story tower at 7 Boerum Place, New York YIMBY first reported. The building will have 122 residential units, an enclosed parking lot with 49 spaces and 21,016-square-feet for commercial use, city records show.
Developers bought the plot of land from the Brooklyn Law School in 2016 for $76.5 million, Crain's New York reported. Avery Hall spent $16 million earlier this year for the air rights for two neighboring properties to add more height to the project, the Brooklyn Paper reported.

Avery Hall is currently demolishing the former Brooklyn Law School buildings at the site and hopes to start construction on the tower later this year, which they expect would take two-years to finish, according to the Brooklyn Paper.
Aside from The Downtown Brooklyn tower, Avery also has several other projects in the works around Brooklyn. The developer is working on building an apartment complex at the site of Key Food on Fifth Avenue in Park Slope and the luxury building on President Street in Carroll Gardens.
