This week-long event features camps and programs for children of all ages located in NYC, across the country, and in Canada. Representatives will be available in 20-minute live, back-to-back Zoom sessions. So, jump-start your research and join us as you learn about these unique summer opportunities. 
Events will kick off on Monday, January 12th, at 9:00 am with a panel of educators who specialize in summer experiences for kids! Join local author David Felsen for a talk on his book New York City Monuments of Black Americans: A History and Guide. The book reveals the stories behind thirty inspiring monuments in New York City, tracing the history from nameless symbolic monuments beginning in 1876, to the first named monument to a black person, Booker T. Washington, in 1946, all the way to the first dedication of a monument to a black woman in New York City, Harriet Tubman, in 2007.

If you are in the midst of parenting a child under two years old, this interactive presentation is for you. Spend an evening with two seasoned early childhood educators, Emily Boucher and Amy Mockbee, who have parented and worked with young children themselves. Let’s get real about the joys and challenges of early childhood; learn how you can build the parent-child connection, foster learning, and make these years breezy, not stormy. Meet fellow parents, and give time and space to be perfectly imperfect parents.&nbsp;
For our winter session, we will tackle the day-to-day work of parenting a thriving toddler, particularly as the colder months drag on.&nbsp;
Topics of discussion will include:
<ul><li>engaging a toddler (with or without screens) so home life can feel positive&nbsp;</li><li>creating space for growth - for parents and young children alike, through routines and approaches that make sense</li><li>considering how toddlers connect and socialize - what is expected, what is problematic, and how to face the common pitfalls</li></ul>

PRESIDENTS DAY HOLIDAY CAMP | Camp United Nations for Youth NYC 2026 and a Day at United Nations Headquarters is a two-day program that includes the activities outlined below. Girls and boys are introduced to the work of the United Nations, diplomacy and global affairs.
This is a day-program with parents being responsible for accommodations and transportation of those traveling to NYC to participate; no financial assistance is available for this event.
Day 1 - Conference Center (1pm to 5pm)
Camp United Nations begins with a lesson on the history of the United Nations and the organization’s purpose. This is followed by a study of the structure, leadership, and the rules of procedure of the United Nations. Each student will be given an assignment to serve as a delegate for a UN Member State. When the General Assembly convenes delegates will propose a resolution. The resolution will be subject to negotiation and amendment by the UN Delegates before a vote on a final version of the resolution.

Is this event a drop-off? All camps are drop-off unless parent participation is indicated. Parents may wait at the venue for the duration of the camp in any of the lounge or seating area throughout the hotel. The meeting room space capacity can only accommodate students and staff.
Is the registration fee refundable? The registration fee is non-refundable unless the organizer cancels the session. If a participant is unable to attend a session a credit will be placed on file that may be used at any time for a future program. The credit does not expire.
Is this a partisan program or supported by a political party? No, the Girls in Politics Initiative is an independent organization that is self-funded through the fees generated from hosting sessions. The curriculum is civic education.
Is financial assistance available? Due to rising costs associated with hosting events, there is no financial assistance available for this event and there is no promo code for this event.
Who are the instructors? Our Lead Instructors are women that currently or have previously worked in government or electoral politics. Our support staff are current or former licensed teachers. All instructors and support staff undergo background screening. All instructors and support staff are also in compliance with any local ordinances or state/provincial regulations applicable to those working with children.
