16-Year-Old Bicyclist Struck by Car in Hicksville

HICKSVILLE, NY – A 16-year-old boy was struck by a car as he tried to cross a road on his bicycle in Hicksville Tuesday night.

The crash occurred at 9:37 p.m., according to Nassau Police. The teen, who police did not name, was attempting to cross Old County Road from west to east when he was hit by a 2019 Nissan that was going north on Newbridge Road.

The bicyclist suffered multiple head injuries and was taken to a local hospital where he was listed in critical condition.

A 63-year-old man behind the wheel of the Nissan was not injured. No criminal charges have been filed. The investigation is ongoing, police said.
