16-Year-Old Faces Murder Charge For Long Island Teen's Death

The teen's body was found outside a large house party earlier this month, reports say.

A teen faces a murder charge in connection to the homicide of another teen that occurred earlier this month in New Cassel, police say.

According to authorities, Matthew Martinez, 16, Selden, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with second-degree murder after Jordan Harris, 16, of Uniondale, was found dead on the morning of July 5.

According to authorities, police responded to Roman Avenue and Costar Street to find Harris suffering from serious injuries at 1:05 a.m. Newsday reports he was found outside of a home that was hosting a house party with about 100 guests.

He was taken to Nassau University Medical Center were he was pronounced dead.

Authorities say the teen's killing was intentional, according to Newsday.

Martinez will be arraigned on Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead.
