2 Nassau Officers Injured Responding To Domestic Incident: Police

Police say the woman the officers were arresting was combative and injured them.

HICKSVILLE, NY — Two Nassau County police officers were injured responding to a domestic incident in Hicksville Monday night, police said.

According to police, officers responded to a disturbance at a home on Harding Avenue in Hicksville just before 8:30 p.m. When the officers arrived, a woman told them she was having an argument with a family member, 18-year-old Rosa Sanchez.

Police say Sanchez approached the two officers and became aggressive. The officers placed her under arrest, but were injured in the process.

The two officers and Sanchez were taken to a hospital for assessment and treatment.

Sanchez is charged with two counts of second-degree assault and resisting arrest. She is scheduled to be arraigned later today in First District Court in Hempstead.
