4 Accused Of Box Cutter Assault In New Cassel

Police say they are looking for a fifth person involved in the assault.

Four men were arrested on charges in connection to assaulting a man with a box cutter on Saturday night in New Cassel, police say.

According to authorities, the four men, and a fifth person who fled the scene, attacked a man on the 800-block of Prospect Ave. at 6:44 p.m.:

  • Ademola Olatunji-Bostick, 22, of Bay Shore
  • Francisco Mateo, 22, of 16 Roosevelt
  • Leroy Flowers, 22, of Freeport
  • Rakim King, 24, of Westbury

The victim suffered facial injuries from a box cutter and was taken to a local hospital to be treated.

The fifth person fled the scene on foot northbound on Sherman Street. Police described him as Hispanic, 5 feet 9 inches tall, 160 pounds, with dark hair and wearing a blue sweat suit.

The four men were arrested charged with second-degree assault. Flowers was additionally charged with second-degree criminal mischief and fourth-degree possession of a dangerous weapon.

The men were arraigned Sunday at First District Court in Hempstead.
