Arrests Made In Hicksville Home Burglary: Police

The men were arrested one month apart. One man was found stuck in a fence, police say.

Two homeless men were arrested one month apart for burglarizing a Hicksville home last month, Nassau Police announced Thursday.

According to authorities, a neighbor notified police after he saw 33-year-old Robert Hurley and 26-year-old Gerasimos Efthimiou enter a Rim Lane home on Friday, May 11 at 10:55 a.m.

Officers arrived to the scene to find a broken side window. They went to the rear yard and saw Hurley, who was caught in the fence, police say. Efthimiou fled the scene in an unknown direction, police say.

Hurley was placed under arrest without incident. A bottle of Oxycodone pills taken from inside the residence was recovered, police say.

Following an investigation, Efthimiou was placed under arrest on Wednesday at Starbucks, located at 2148 Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow.

Both men were charged with second-degree burglary. Hurley was arraigned May 12 and Efthimiou will be arraigned Thursday at First District Court in Hemsptead.
