New Ambulances Placed Into Service For The Syosset Fire Department: FD
"Our hope is that our community never needs them."

SYOSSET, NY — The Syosset Fire Department has recently placed three new ambulances into service.
The SFD said they plan a regular 10-year replacement program for all ambulances, "which we find optimizes service efficiency and reliability, provides our community with the latest technology, and maximizes our return on investment for both the new and the retiring fleet."
The new ambulances will become their primary response ambulances and will be housed at their three main fire stations. One of their existing ambulances will be kept in service and used as required, the SFD said.

"Our hope is that our community never needs them," the SFD said. "When our ambulances arrive, it is typically a very bad day for one of our community members. But, when our community does see their new ambulances, we hope that they look upon them with comfort and pride knowing that they live in a community that possesses the services they need and the tools they require.
The SFD said the added benefit of the new ambulances will be "decreased downtime and lower maintenance costs in their early years."

They added that the District plans for fleet replacement annually, so they had the funds for the new ambulances in its budget.
