Bay Shore Man Charged With Murder; New Cassel Man Killed In Shooting Identified: Police

Police say they have arrested and charged a man after finding a 40-year-old man shot dead.

NEW CASSEL, NY — Police have arrested a person and identified the man who was found shot and killed in New Cassel on New Year's Day, police said.

Nassau County police said they arrested Stephen Primm, 34, of Bay Shore, after responding to Railroad Avenue in the vicinity of Seigel Street, and found a 40-year-old man shot.

Joseph Fountain of New Cassel was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced by hospital staff, police said.

NCPD said the shooting occurred at about 2:05 a.m.
