Passenger Dies In Nassau Crash: Police

HICKSVILLE, NY — A driver lost control of her car early Friday in Hicksville and struck a tree in a crash that left her passenger dead, police said.

A 51-year-old woman was driving a 2003 Honda Accord on East Barclay Street just before 2:30 a.m., police said.

She crashed into a tree near the intersection with Bay Avenue, police said.

Her 52-year-old male passenger was pronounced dead at the scene by a Nassau County police medic, authorities said.

The driver was brought to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are investigating.
