Driver Flees After Critically Injuring Pedestrian In New Cassel

A pedestrian is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle that fled the scene on Sunday night in New Cassel, police say.

According to authorities, a 61-year-old man fell into the roadway near 577 Broadway and was struck by an unknown vehicle traveling eastbound at 8:07 p.m.

The vehicle fled the scene and traveled southbound without attempting to render aid or call 911.

Authorities were notified after the pedestrian was found by a passerby.
