HICKSVILLE, NY — The Hicksville Fire Department will host a fire-safety open house event this weekend, where neighbors can meet the firefighters who keep the community safe and kids will be able to meet Santa Claus.

The three-hour open house event begins at noon Sunday at Fire Station No. 3 on West John and Strong streets. Free fire engine rides will be offered, and the public can watch safety and vehicle extraction demonstrations.

A live burn is also planned at 2:45 p.m.
