Hicksville Kids Recognized At Fire-Safety Prevention Ceremony
The Hicksville Fire Department held its annual fire-safety prevention poster contest. Here are the winners.

HICKSVILLE, NY — The Hicksville Fire Department has held its yearly Fire Prevention Poster contest and 47 students were recognized at an awards ceremony. The department received 2,000 posters from each Hicksville school, officials said.
Firefighters kick off the event by visiting each school. The winners were unveiled Sunday.
On Dec. 1, firefighters will hold popcorn ball day. They'll finish with a fire-safety open house on Dec. 8 from noon to 3 p.m. at the fire house on Strong and West John streets.
