Man Beaten, Robbed In Westbury

A man was beaten and robbed by two people in Westbury on Saturday morning, police say.

According to authorities, the 27-year-old man was walking on the 200-block of Sylvester Street when two unknown men approached him and began punching him several times in the head and body at 4 a.m.

The men then stole his iPhone and an undisclosed amount of cash, police say. They fled on foot in an unknown direction.

The victim suffered bruising and contusions. He was taken to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries.

Police descried the robbers as Hispanic, light skinned, 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a stocky build and around 30 years old. One robber had a beard.
