Police say the man violently resisted when officers were trying to place him into custody.

HICKSVILLE, NY — A Hempstead man assaulted a police officer during his arrest in Hicksville early Saturday morning, Nassau County police said.
A man called police at 12:12 a.m. Saturday and said that Alek Zitti, 30, of Hempstead, was inside his Hicksville Home without permission, police said.
Officers responded to the scene. While investigating and interviewing the men, police say Zitti was restless and kept ignoring officers' orders to not put his hands in his pockets.
