NASSAU COUNTY, NY — The race for the 15th Assembly District is an open on. Republican Jake Blumencranz is facing off against Democrat Amanda Field to fill Michael Montesano's seat. Montesano stepped down from his position as assemblyman earlier this year to become a district court judge.

Blumencranz is a graduate of Jericho High School. He earned a Master of Science in Regional Urban Planning and Economic Development at The London School of Economics and a dual Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Policy and Religious Studies from Rice University.
