Person Seen Walking Away From 'Suspicious' Nassau Car Fire: Police

The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked by police to call 1-800-244-TIPS.​

NEW CASSEL, NY — A suspicious car fire occurred on Monday at 6:39 p.m. on Sohmer Place, police said.

According to Nassau County police, officials responded to a call for a car fire and observed a 2024 Nissan parked in the roadway on fire.

The Westbury Fire Department responded to the scene to extinguish the flames.

An unknown person was seen walking away from the vehicle before the fire started, police said. A description of the individual is unavailable at this time, police said.

No injuries were reported, and the investigation is ongoing.
