STONY BROOK, NY — The Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame has announced its first exhibit dedicated exclusively to Billy Joel.

When it comes to legendary musicians from Long Island, Billy Joel is at the top of the list.

The exhibit called Billy Joel - My Life, A Piano Man's Journey, will open at the Stony Brook museum on Nov. 24. There will be some of Joel's most prized possessions, including rare memorabilia, dozens of awards and rare audio and video recordings.

Joel, who was born in Hicksville, grew up in Hicksville and later spent years in Oyster Bay. Last week, the Town of Oyster Bay renamed a portion of the road "Billy Joel Way."

"Billy has been very cordial and involved in the planning, and it is appropriate the exhibit is on Long Island, where he has long been identified, written so many songs and lived most of his life," Ernie Canadeo, LIMEHOF Chairman, said.

It marks the second exhibit since the museum debuted in Nov. 2022. Joel's legions of fans will experience more than a half-century of music from his roots in Hicksville and Levittown through albums, tours and so much more.

Designer Kevin O’Callaghan and Canadeo have presented the exhibit plans and designs to Joel several times during the past year and received his input, culminating with the final design ready to be created.

"It has been a thrill and an honor to work with Billy in creating this extraordinary testament to his life and music," O’Callaghan, LIMEHOF Creative Director, said. "It is one of the highlights of my long career and I’m sure visitors will be thrilled with the result."

Tickets are available for sale at www.TheBillyJoelExhibit.com or can be purchased at LIMEHOF for the timed entry exhibit.
