Students Recite Bilingual Poems in Hicksville

Kindergarten and first-grade dual language students at Old Country Road Elementary School in the Hicksville Public School District commemorated their completion of bilingual poetry by reading their works aloud before parents, family members and district administrators.

The event, named Author’s Tea, was designed to celebrate the hard work and progress of the students, whose poetry was also published in books. While their loved ones enjoyed tea, coffee and refreshments, students received certificates for their creativity and also sang renditions of musical numbers.
