Woman Drove Drunk With 2 Kids In Car In Westbury: PD

She had a strong odor of alcohol on her breath, glassy bloodshot eyes and slurred speech on Sunday morning, police say.

A woman faces a felony DWI charge after police say she drove intoxicated with her two children in the car on Sunday morning in Westbury.

According to authorities, a traffic stop was conducted on a blue Nissan Altima, driven by 25-year-old Brooklyn resident Amanda Guzman, on Merchants Concourse at 1:50 a.m. Guzman's two daughters, ages 3 and 10 months old, were in the car with her.

Officers determined Guzman was under the influence of alcohol after police say she had a strong odor of alcohol on her breath, glassy bloodshot eyes and slurred speech.

She was placed under arrest without incident. Her children were left in the custody of a family member.

Guzman was charged with aggravated DWI, DWI, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and multiple vehicle and traffic law violations.

She will be arraigned Sunday at First District Court in Hempstead.
