Woman Left Dead In Road After Nassau Hit-And-Run

UPDATE, NOV. 29: Nassau County police have identified the woman as Nayi Harsida, 43, of Westbury.

HICKSVILLE, NY — Nassau County police are investigating a hit-and-run that left a woman lying dead in the street.

According to police, officers responded to Stewart Avenue, east of Levittown Parkway, in Hicksville at 5:18 p.m. on Nov. 26 for a report of a woman lying in the road near Dutch Lane Elementary School.

When the officers arrived, they found that the woman was dead. She had apparently been struck by a vehicle, which had left the scene. Police have not yet released the woman's name.

Police ask anyone with information about this hit-and-run to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS or 911. All callers will remain anonymous.
