Woman Robs Taxi Driver At Knifepoint In Hicksville: Police

The Hicksville resident was arrested Wednesday morning.

A woman was arrested for robbing a taxi driver in Hicksville on Wednesday morning, police say.

According to authorities, Ingris Reyes, 22, of Hicksville, entered a taxi driven by a 20-year-old man in Hempstead at around 12:30 a.m. When the taxi arrived in the area of Jerusalem Avenue and 11th Street and the driver requested the fare, Reyes displayed a knife and demanded cash, police say.

Th driver complied and Reyes fled southbound on Jerusalem Avenue with an undisclosed amount of cash, police say.

Reyes was arrested without incident following an investigation. She was charged with first-degree robbery. She will be arraigned on Wednesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
