• Suspected shoplifter attacks Steuben County Sheriff's Deputies (wellsvillesun.com) — A Hornell man is accused of trying to stab a Steuben County sheriff’s deputy after deputies tracked him to his Seneca Road home following a reported shoplifting in Hornellsville. Deputies say they disarmed him, arrested him, and he’s now being held on multiple felony and misdemeanor charges, including attempted assault and menacing a police officer.
   

• Arkport Woman Faces Multiple Felony Charges Following Route 36 Work Zone Crash (hornellsun.com) — Three state road workers were injured in June when a driver allegedly plowed through a marked Route 36 work zone in the Town of Hornellsville, just outside Hornell, and now faces a 12‑count indictment. The Arkport woman is accused of being under the influence of drugs and remains incarcerated on an unrelated parole violation while awaiting arraignment on new felony charges.
