Michael J Mc Elwee Wins Islip Town Council Seat District 3
This will be the restaurant and bar owner's first time holding a public office.

SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY — Town of Islip residents went out to the polls Tuesday to choose who will represent them in the town council District 3.
With no districts left to be counted, according to unofficial Suffolk County Board of Elections results, the winner was Republican Michael J Mc Elwee Jr with 7,976 votes, or 54.98 percent.
Democratic candidate Christine Pellegrino obtained 5,562 votes, or 38.34 percent.

Write-in candidate Guy Leggio has 968 votes, or 6.67 percent.
"I’m very happy with last night's results," McElwee told Patch. "We ran a clean campaign, and I’m proud to stand on my record as a 25-year resident and a 20-year business owner and community advocate within the Council District."
