Pedestrian Hit By Car On 82nd Street In Jackson Heights
A driver jumped the curb and hit a pedestrian by 35th Avenue and 82nd Street in Jackson Heights, authorities and witnesses said.

JACKSON HEIGHTS, QUEENS — A pedestrian was seriously injured in Jackson Heights after a minivan driver jumped the curb and slammed into him Wednesday.
The 48-year-old driver was heading south on 82nd Street by 35th Avenue just after 5 p.m. when he swerved onto the sidewalk, hit the pedestrian and crashed into a building, according to police and video posted to Citizen.
The 34-year-old man went to Elmhurst Hospital with a leg injury, police said. The man was in critical condition, ABC7 reported, but police could not confirm that Thursday.

Police have not charged the driver, who was in a 2019 Honda sedan.
The NYPD's Collision Investigation Squad was notified, a police spokesman said, but it is unclear whether they are taking the case. Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
