Brooklyn Pedestrian Killed In Belt Parkway Crash In Queens

A driver struck and killed a pedestrian on the Belt Parkway in Queens late Sunday, police said. There are no arrests.

SOUTH OZONE PARK, QUEENS — A driver struck and killed a pedestrian on the Belt Parkway in Queens late Sunday, police said.

A 26-year-old man in a 2018 Mercedes was driving east on the Belt Parkway by 135th Place about 11:15 p.m. when he crashed into the pedestrian, Crown Heights resident Edwin Otero.

Emergency responders rushed Otero, 59, to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he died.

There are no arrests. The NYPD's Collision Investigation Squad is investigating the crash.
