Explosion In Garbage Truck Injures Queens Sanitation Worker
The worker suffered minor injuries after a mysterious substance exploded in the back of a garbage truck in Queens, the FDNY said.

JAMAICA ESTATES, QUEENS — A sanitation worker suffered minor injuries after a mystery substance exploded in the back of a garbage truck in Queens, according to a Fire Department spokesperson.
The incident happened on Wexford Terrace at 10:18 a.m. Monday, the FDNY spokesperson said.
The victim, a sanitation worker, was decontaminated and went to Jamaica Hospital, according to PIX11.

The fire and sanitation departments' hazmat teams said the mysterious powder wasn't hazardous but provided no further information.
