JAMAICA, QUEENS -- A mother was arrested for the death of her 5-year-old son in Jamaica on Thursday, more than a year after the boy was killed inside the home with a history of abuse complaints , police said.
Phyllis Reinoso, 31, found her son Michael Guzman, who was known to have chronic seizures, unconscious and unresponsive in his bed at their house on 109th Avenue near Inwood Street on Jan. 22, 2017, cops said. Medics rushed the boy to Jamaica Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
That July, a medical examiner determined the boy's cause of death was an overdose of seizure medications, NBC New York reported. Cops questioned Reinoso and the boy's father, but neither was ever arrested.
