A judge sentenced a Jamaica woman to 23 years in prison for killing her aunt with a meat cleaver and sexually assaulting a teenage relative.
JAMAICA, QUEENS — A judge sentenced a Jamaica woman to 23 years in prison for killing her aunt with a meat cleaver and sexually assaulting a teenage relative, prosecutors said Tuesday.
Elizabeth Sanchez, also known as Digna Sanchez-Ortiz, was accused of fatally attacking her aunt in March 2017 in the home where they were both living, according to the charges.
Sanchez pleaded guilty in June to manslaughter. She also pleaded guilty to raping a relative several times when he was younger than 15, prosecutors said.
