Queens Man Busted With Stash Of Weapons, Police Gear: NYPD

Cops found FBI, SWAT and NYPD-style vests, loaded guns and nearly 400 rounds of ammo in a raid of the man's Rosedale home.

ROSEDALE, QUEENS -- A Queens man armed with a cache of guns, law enforcement-style vests and nearly 400 rounds of ammo was arrested after the arsenal was discovered in his Rosedale home, police said Friday.

Kevin Nugent, 40, was busted on Thursday afternoon after the Queens South Narcotics Division was tipped off about his stash and raided his home on 254th Street, cops said.

There, investigators found two loaded guns - a .380 Ruger pistol and a Mossberg shotgun - and 370 cartridges of ammo along with four police IDs and FBI, SWAT and NYPD- style bulletproof vests.

Officers also recovered a stash of methadone pills and $2,230 in cash, authorities said.

Nugent was charged with criminal possession of a loaded firearm, possession of a forged instrument, criminal possession of a controlled substance and violation of local law.

He is slated to be arraigned in Queens Criminal Court on Friday.
