Queens Woman Gunned Down Outside Her Home: NYPD

Surveillance video captured the suspect fatally shooting a woman in her chest and back outside of her home in Queens on Friday.

JAMAICA, QUEENS — The New York City Police department is actively looking for the person who gunned down a woman outside of her own home in Queens recently — and it was all captured on camera.

According to NYPD, officers responded to a shooting that occurred at 6:21 a.m. Friday in front of Foch Boulevard, between 155th and Barron streets in the South Jamaica neighborhood.

Video shows the suspect in a hoody, walking briskly toward the victim while firing multiple shots in her direction.

The victim can then be seen lying on the road behind a dark-colored SUV. As the suspect walks by the vehicle, more shots are fired. The suspect then quickly flees on foot in an unknown direction.

When police arrived, they found the 39-year-old woman fatally shot in her chest and back. Multiple news outlets have identified the shooting victim as Dawn Peterson.

It was not immediately known what prompted the shooting or if the suspect and woman knew one another.
