Trio Wanted For 2 Jamaica Cab Holdups, Police Say

Police are looking for three men tied to the robberies of two cab drivers in Jamaica less than a month apart.

JAMAICA, NY — The cabbies ended up paying on these trips. Police are searching for three men who they say are tied to a pair of taxi holdups in Jamaica that happened less than a month apart.

The trio first got a ride around 4:20 p.m. on Aug. 29, when a cabbie picked them up near 33rd Street and Queens Boulevard, the NYPD said.

They asked to be taken to 160th Street and 108th Avenue in Jamaica, where one of the men held a knife to the 54-year-old driver's neck and demanded money, police said. The other two patted down the driver with the knife and took his wallet, which held two credit cards and $100 in cash, before fleeing into a building on 160th Street, the NYPD said.

Two of the men struck again around midnight on Sept. 15, when a 31-year-old cab driver picked them up on 170th Street, police said.

The pair asked the driver to take them to a Roscoe Street address, then directed him to 107-15 Watson Place, police said. That's where one of the men held a handgun to the driver's midsection and took his cellphone and $380 in cash before both men fled north on Watson Place, the NYPD said.
