Fundraiser Made For Family Of Long Island Teen Killed In Car Crash

Isabel Carella, 17, died in a car collision in June. A GoFundMe was made to help her family. Here is how you can donate if you'd like.

KINGS PARK, NY — A GoFundMe has raised more than $106,000 for the family of a 17-year-old Smithtown girl who was killed in a car collision in Commack earlier in June.

Isabel Carella, who was a senior at Kings Park High School, died in a two-vehicle crash in Commack on June 15. Two other teenagers in the car with Carella were also seriously injured, Suffolk police said.

The Kings Park High School PFA organized a GoFundMe to help Carella's family offset the cost of the expenses. Carella was a "wonderful, fun-loving young woman," the school's PFA wrote.

"Her friends lovingly knew Isabel as Issie," the PFA wrote on the fundraiser. "Issie was a Kickline, Chorus and Theater Member, among other things. Recently, in May, she received the Musical Theatre Award for choreographing the dance numbers for our Spring Musical. In addition, she was a talented dancer with the Sarah Jean Dance Company. Issie was preparing for her Senior Prom and High School Graduation later this month."
