What residents should know about today in town.

Good morning, Kings Park. Here's a look at what's happening in town Wednesday.

Join The Smithtown Library in celebrating the re-dedication of the
Peter McCann Gillard Community Room at the Smithtown Main Building.  Mr. Gillard was Library Director from 1978 to 1988 and worked at the Kings Park Branch for 11 years prior to being Director.

In honor of Mr. Gillard’s 19 years of service and continuing efforts to improve library services to all Smithtown residents, the Board of Trustees dedicated the community room in honor of him on November 24, 1987.   The Smithtown Library will re-dedicate the community room in honor of Peter McCann Gillard and a plaque will be placed commemorating this event.  Light refreshments will be served.

-Plan to watch the Perseid meteor shower, which is already underway and will continue through Aug. 24. The peak viewing will be Aug. 11-12. Find out more here.

-Thinking about taking up dance? If you register now for Kings Park Dance Center's fall classes you can get a chance to win a free month of classes. Click here to find out more.
