Multi-Vehicle Accident Causes Delays on I-95 N
The accident resulted in several injuries, and two of the three I-95 north lanes will likely remain closed until 6 p.m.
Two accidents involving a total of seven vehicles on Interstate 95 north at approximately 2:00 p.m. today forced authorities to close down a portion of the roadway. Only recently was one of the northbound lanes—at Exit 16, North Avenue-Cedar Street—opened to traffic.
An initial two-vehicle accident gave way to another five-vehicle accident, according to Stephen Meehan, a Sergeant with the New York State Police. The accidents resulted in one major injury and several minor injuries, and the injured were transported to Sound Shore Medical Center in New Rochelle, Meehan added.
Initially, authorities detoured traffic at Exit 15 to Boston Post Road, which congested several back roads. Delays on I-95 north may go as far back as the Hutchinson River Parkway intersection, according to reports by LoHud.

"We have the right lane open right now, and it will probably be another hour before the other two lanes open," Meehan said.
