Mamaroneck Police Blotters: June 7-13

A GPS is stolen from a car parked at Central School; a $300 statue is stolen from Mangone's Farmers' Market.

The Village of Mamaroneck Police Department investigated the following incidents last week:

Larceny

-On June 7, an employee at Mangone's Farmers' Market reported a stone garden statue valued at $300 had been stolen from the premise. No arrests have been made.

-On June 8, at approximately 9:30 a.m., a woman reported her iPod had been stolen from her vehicle at a car wash on Mamaroneck Avenue. The car wash employees denied taking any property; the case is not under investigation.

-On June 10, an unknown person broke the driver's side window of a car parked at 1125 Halstead Ave. and stole a GPS unit. No arrests have been made.

-On June 13, between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m., a bicycle was stolen from Mamaroneck High School. No arrests have been made.

Hit and run

-On June 7, at approximately 4 p.m., a driver rear-ended another vehicle and left the scene on North Barry Avenue. The driver was later located, found not to have a license and issued a summons.

-On June 13, at approximately 7 p.m., an individual was struck with an object thrown by a passing vehicle. The individual followed the vehicle, confronted the driver and was hit by the vehicle as the driver fled the scene. The driver was located and issued a summons for leaving an accident and causing a minor injury. The victim refused medical attention.

Criminal mischief 

-Between June 6 and June 8, two vehicles parked at 822 Woodbine Ave. sustained multiple scratches to the passenger side doors.

-On June 8, at approximately 8 a.m., a vehicle parked at 311 Hornidge Rd. was defaced with magic marker. The perpetrator was gone when police arrived; no arrests have been made.

-On June 9, at approximately 9:30 a.m., graffiti was discovered on a temporary wooden structure at a construction site at 650 Halstead Ave. No arrests have been made.

-On June 12, a resident at 711 Forest Ave. reported the tail lights on his vehicle had been broken. No arrests have been made.

-Between June 11 and June 12, an unknown person broke the driver's side window of a car parked at 1325 Sherman Ave. Nothing was taken, and no arrests have been made.

Arrests

-On June 7, at approximately 5 p.m., and individual was stopped for a traffic infraction near 419 Mamaroneck Ave. He was found to be operating the vehicle without a license, taken into custody and released on $100 cash bail.

-On June 11, at approximately 2:55 p.m., a Connecticut man was pulled over for speeding on Mamaroneck Avenue. He was found to be operating the vehicle with his privilege to drive in New York suspended. He was arrested and released on $150 cash bail.

Property damaged

On June 9, at approximately 11 a.m., a DPW worker accidentally hit a vehicle with concrete while working on Ward Avenue. The accident resulted in passenger door damage, and was reported by the DPW worker.

In addition, police investigated:

-3 auto accidents without injury

-7 auto accidents with minor injuries

 

The Town of Mamaroneck Police Department investigated the following incidents last week:

Petit larceny

Between June 9 and June 10, a woman reported a GPS unit stolen from her car in the parking lot of Central School. No arrests have been made.

Leaving the scene of an auto accident

On June 8, at approximately 1:15 p.m., a woman reported rear bumper damage had been done to her parked car at 1329 Boston Post Rd. No arrests have been made.

Warrant arrest

On June 7, a Bronx resident was arrested at his home. Mamaroneck police received a call from the man's probation officer; he was due in Mamaroneck court for unauthorized use of a vehicle.
