Update: VOM Republicans, Dems Select Candidates for November
The Republican ballot will feature one incumbent and two newcomers; the Democratic ballot will feature two incumbents and two newcomers.
With November on the horizon, the village has begun gearing up for elections—recently, the Village of Mamaroneck Republican Committee chose its candidates for the November vote.
The Republicans will support one incumbent—Marianne Ybarra, who was elected last year—and two fresh faces, Greg Sullivan and Mary Vozza.
Sullivan currently runs a law firm in the village, and has five years experience with the village's Zoning Board of Appeals.

"I want to stay involved with the village," Sullivan said over the phone in an interview today. His term with the Zoning Board expires this year.
"I like to voice my opinion, but not from the sidelines," he added. "I'll help village continue on with low tax increases. I want to make sure we keep an eye on spending."

Vozza has similar motivations.
"I want to give back... and I want to offer my services and experience in order to ensure that Mamaroneck continues to prosper," Vozza told Patch in a recent interview. Read the full transcript here.
Mayor Norman Rosenblum is pleased with the Republicans' selection.
"I think it's an exciting team, and I look forward to a successful election and moving forward," he said. "I have spoken to all three candidates, and I believe they are in line with continuing on with open government and the unification of all residents in the village."
The Democrats made their announcement earlier this week. Village trustees Toni Ryan and John Hofstetter are seeking re-election. Before serving on the Board of Trustees, Hofstetter served on the Library Board and Mamaroneck Village Budget Committee.
Ryan and Hofstetter will be joined on the ballot by newcomer Sid Albert. A lifelong Mamaroneck resident, Albert has served on the Mamaroneck Chamber of Commerce, the Mamaroneck Human Rights Committee and the Library Board.
Another new face for the Democrats is Alice Pernick, who is seeking the Village Justice position. Permick served as the Village Committee for the Environment chair, and has volunteered with several village causes.
