1 Dead In Long Island Truck Crash

Police say a FedEx truck and a box truck crashed, killing one driver and injuring two other people.

LEVITTOWN, NY — One person is dead following a crash between two trucks that shut down part of Jerusalem Avenue in Levittown for hours Wednesday.

According to police, at 10:13 a.m., a 23-year-old man driving a FedEx delivery truck was involved in a crash with a 2017 Hino box truck being driven by a 58-year-old man. Both trucks were heading south on Jerusalem Avenue, near the intersection with Hempstead Turnpike.

The driver of the box truck and his passenger, a 56-year-old man, were taken to a hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the FedEx truck, who police have not named, was taken to a local hospital, but was pronounced dead at 10:38 a.m.

Police say no criminality is suspected, but the investigation is ongoing.
