"I feel very grateful that I have been doing it for so long," she said. "I know myself as a performer and as a comedian, so I think the timing was really good for me."

For those who aren't familiar with Rudick or her humor, she considers her comedic style an amalgam.

"I love absurd. I love dark. I love a little dirty," she said. "My online presence is both character and stand-up. My stand-up is a little bit more autobiographical."

Rudick's favorite comedian is Maria Bamford. "I just love her voice. She just is one of a kind."

But growing up, Rudick admired comedic actresses, in particular those who were part of Christopher Guest's repertory company in the 1990s-2000s movies, including "A Mighty Wind," "Best in Show" and "Waiting for Guffman."

Artists like Jane Lynch, Parker Posey and Jennifer Coolidge: "Those were kind of my heroes growing up."

As Rudick's stock rises, she remains humbled by the experience.

"It's been a really exciting couple of years," she said. "It's just fun to get to do what I love and make a living doing it."
