Over two decades, Commerce Plaza, a unique financial literacy program has been serving 5th grade students throughout Long Island. Since the inception of the program in March 2000, over 72,000 students have visited Commerce Plaza.
Commerce Plaza has continued to grow in spite of challenges resulting from COVID-19. A new dynamic new leadership team will begin at Commerce Plaza as we also announce the retirement of our Program Director, Irma Silver and Coordinator, Rita Orlando. Margo Kozak will join us as Program Developer and Eileen Soreco, as Program Coordinator. Margo Kozak obtained her Master of Science in Literacy and Administrative Leadership and has worked 16 years as an elementary school teacher. Ms. Kozak brings a rich background in both literacy and math. Eileen Soreco first joined Commerce Plaza in the fall of 2021. Eileen has a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and brings 20 years of professional experience implementing marketing initiatives through various media outlets including digital, social, direct mail, print, and events.
