Making The Grade: Academic Achievers From Nassau County

NASSAU COUNTY, NY — Patch is pleased to recognize some top students from across Nassau County.

• William Leonard, East Meadow, named to Presbyterian College Spring 2023 President's List.

Leonard was one of 109 students who achieved a perfect 4.0-grade point average.

The State University of New York at Potsdam recently named 716 students to the President's List for the spring semester, including:

• Grace Conway, Wantagh, whose major is Environmental Studies

• Shannon Frank, Seaford, whose major is Music Education

• Brendan Travers, Wantagh, whose major is Music Education
  
• Samantha Wider, Seaford, whose major is Childhood/Early Childhood Education

• Kenneth Gonzalez, Levittown, whose major is Music Education

The SUNY New Paltz Dean's List for the spring includes:

• Daniel Amoruso, Hewlett
• Ryan Levey, Atlantic Beach
• Ofek Preis, Hewlett

Cedar Crest College in Pennsylvania named Mackenzie Gregory, of Levittown, to the spring semester Dean's List.

Garden City students: Emmett Debrich from Stewart Elementary School, Reese Smith from Garden City Middle School and Madeleine McCarthy, Hunter Maguire and Shujin Chen from Garden City High School had winning selections in the Nassau Reading Council’s Young Authors’ Contest 2023.

Siena College Dean's List for the Spring 2023 semester includes:

Nick Rizzi, West Hempstead

Kayla Michels, Levittown

Long Beach's Alessa Ramotar will be attending the New York Institute of Technology in the fall. He plans to major in Architecture.
