'Voices of the Holocaust' at Wisdom Lane School
Young Levittown students witnessed an emotional performance from Theatre Three's "From the Fires: Voices of the Holocaust."

Wisdom Lane Middle School students attended a stellar and emotional performance of Theatre Three’s “From the Fires: Voices of the Holocaust.”
The students have been studying World War II and the Holocaust, so the educational program brought to life many of the events studied in the social studies curriculum.
“From the Fires: Voices of the Holocaust” traces the life of the fictional Berlin teenager Rachel Gold and her experiences from 1937 to 1945, touching on the Nuremberg Laws, her deportation to Auschwitz and the death march to Mauthausen.

With limited props, the characterization of Rachel, her friend, her father and members of the community drives home the atrocities experienced by Jews during this dark historical period. The actors also held a question and answer forum after the performance.
