WATCH: Impressionist Matt Friend Comes To Long Island
Friend, who estimates he does more than 250 impressions, will perform on Aug. 8-9 at Governor's Comedy Club.

LEVITTOWN, NY — Comedian Matt Friend is coming to Long Island. The popular impressionist will perform at Governor's Comedy Club on Aug. 8 and 9.
Friend, despite only being 27, has amassed a repertoire of more than 250 celebrity voices, including President Trump, former President Obama, Howard Stern and actor Jeff Goldblum.
Along with the comedy club appearances, Friend has built an online following where he'll show off his impressions by personally performing for many of the famous people.

"That's part of my show. Because I get [question] that a lot. 'How do you find these people?" Friend told Patch.
Friend got connected with the Golden Globe Awards where he's reported from the red carpet for the past three years.

"It transformed my social media following," he said. "I had an insane moment where Jamie Foxx came up to me and he was into the work that I had done. That video alone got that 40 million views."
To get an impression just right, it can "take a decent amount of time." However, that timeline is adjusted "if there's someone more topical that I'm trying to nail down specifically in the news, I will work it quickly," he said.
It all started for Friend at a young age, mimicking his family. The first voice he recalled doing with larger appeal was Mike Myers' Austin Powers.
The deeper-voiced impressions, Friend said, like Howard Stern, are the easiest for him to perform.
"They're more in my wheelhouse," he said.
