The Sanctuary Series presents Noel, Noel featuring Mary Jane and Anthony Newman

The Sanctuary Series celebrates the Holiday Season on Sunday afternoon, December 21, 2025 with "Noel, Noel—Baroque highlights of the season," with Anthony Newman, organ, Mary Jane Newman, piano, and David Glukh, trumpet, presenting a festive holiday program featuring radiant works of Johann Sebastian Bach, and including the Newman Fugue in C Major and beloved Baroque masterpieces to lift the heart and spirit in the Sanctuary of the South Salem Presbyterian Church at 4 PM.
Labeled the “High Priest of Bach” by Wynton Marsalis, Anthony Newman is considered America's leading organist, harpsichordist and Bach specialist. Most recently, he was named Laureate First Place at the 4th Edition WNYLE International Piano Competition in Finland. His wife Mary Jane Newman is an acclaimed pianist, organist and choral conductor, as well as artistic director of the series.
New for this year, Mr. Newman will be joining his wife as co-artistic director.While the series will remain “piano-centric" featuring extraordinary keyboard performances in the intimacy of the Sanctuary, several of the recitals programmed for the spring will showcase extraordinary young, talented, instrumentalists. While she thanked the church for their continued support in hosting the series and looking forward to the spring, Mrs. Newman can't wait for December 21 and the chance to "celebrate the season with music of inspiration and joy in our beloved series.”
