Babylon Awards $150K To North Lindenhurst Fire Department

The Town of Babylon has awarded the North Lindenhurst Fire Department $150,000 from American Rescue Plan Act funding.

LINDENHURST, NY — The North Lindenhurst Fire Department received $150,000 from the Town of Babylon to repair the fire department's fuel station, the Town of Babylon announced Tuesday.

Town Supervisor Rich Schaffer recently presented the $150,000 check to fire department officials as part of the American Rescue Plan Act which supports first responders and local businesses, the town said in a statement.

The Town of Babylon launched its Direct Support Program in 2023. This program distributed ARPA funding to local organizations through 267 grants, helping businesses stay afloat as they recovered economically from the pandemic.

According to the town, over $8.3 million was issued to 192 small businesses, 68 nonprofit organizations, and seven veterans groups.
