Biz Beat: Aldi Holding Hiring Event for Lindy Store
The hiring event on October 8 is for its Long Island locations, including the upcoming Lindenhurst store opening in early 2013.
Aldi will host a hiring event on Monday, October 8, to fill approximately 20 positions for its Long Island locations.
This includes the upcoming Lindenhurst store, which is slated to open in early 2013, according to Aldi officials in a statement released on Thursday, September 20.
Local residents currently seeking employment opportunities will be able to meet with Aldi representatives at the Courtyard Republic Airport Long Island in Farmingdale.

Reps will be available from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Positions available include:

- Cashiers at $12.10 per hour.
- Shift managers at $16.10 per hour.
- Manager trainees at $25.00 per hour.
Job requirements include the following:
- Must be 18 years or older to apply.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must be available to work anytime between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m.
- Retail experience preferred.
- Management experience preferred for manager trainees.
- Drug screening and background check.
- Ability to lift 45 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations.
Aldi officials noted in the release, "Employees working at least 20 hours a week receive full health insurance, dental coverage and 401K."
Lindenhurst will be one of more than 1,200 United States stores Aldi operates in 32 states, primarily from Kansas to the East Coast.
