Biz Beat: President of Lindy BID Honored at KoC Dinner

John Frenna, owner of The Little Flower Shop and president of the Lindenhurst BID, is installed as an officer at Saturday's Knights of Columbus Dance for Columbus Day.

A long-time, local Lindenhurst business owner was honored on Saturday night by the Knights of Columbus-OLPH Council #794.

Last year Village Trustee Mike Lavorata was honored at the Columbus Day dinner/dance.

And this year John Frenna, the owner of The Little Flower Shop and president of the Lindy BID, was recognized and installed as an officer in the Knights of Columbus, according to the Town of Babylon - which had several officials on hand for the honor.

Town Supervisor Rich Schaffer and Deputy Supervisor and Councilman Tony Martinez attended this year's event on October 13, along with New York State Assemblyman and Candidate for State Senate Phil Boyle.

They joined John Frenna and his wife, Mary Frenna, as well as Deputy Grand Knight Philip Renna, Event Chairman RJ Renna and KoC Officer Charles Shami at the Council hall at 400 South Broadway in Lindenhurst.

"A great Italian feast was served with a hot buffet, open bar, coffee, dessert and entertainment," according to the KoC website.
