Babylon Branch Back on Time After Broken Rail Delays
Delays of up to 20 minutes expected after a rail broke east of Freeport.

The Long Island Rail Road is reporting trains on the Babylon Branch are running close or on schedule now.
Original Story (9:30 a.m.):
The Long Island Rail Road is reporting delays of up to 20 minutes on the Babylon Branch due to a broken rail east of the Freeport station.
All westbound trains are making local stops between Babylon and Jamaica, the MTA wrote on their website.
Two trains were noted as running late on the LIRR website as of 9:30 a.m.:
- The 8:16 a.m. train from Babylon that was expected to arrive at Penn Station at 9:31 a.m. is operating 13 minutes late.
- The 8:37 a.m. train from Babylon due at Penn Station at 9:50 a.m. is operating 21 minutes late from Wantagh.
There was no word when service would return to normal on the branch.
