Bulldogs Lose Another Heartbreaker to Commack
Late comeback stifled by Commack Cougars at their homecoming game.

The Lindenhurst Bulldogs varsity football squad cannot seem to catch a break this season, taking another heartbreaking loss this week to a still-perfect Commack, 28-21.
The Bulldogs stayed with the Cougars throughout the game, matching Commack on almost every score in the game.
With Commack leading 7-0 in the first quarter, runningback Kevin Harvey made the short one-yard run to the endzone to tie the game at seven early. The Cougars, though, jumped ahead 14-7 in the second and headed to the half with the lead.
Harvey again made a short run in the third quarter, bringing Lindy to a tie before Commack's Rob Paccione connected with a receiver for a 27 yard touchdown and a 21-14 lead.
Commack built on top of that with another score in the fourth, but the Bulldogs rumbled back behind quarterback Ryan Hoffman, who chucked a 24-yard pass to receiver Nick Soriano to get Lindenhurst within one touchdown at 28-21.
The Cougars, however, simply ran out the game clock, wasting the final 3:24 with running plays to wear out the time.
The Bulldogs never got a chance to score again before time expired, hanging Lindenhurst a hard luck loss.
The defeat puts Lindenhurst at 1-5 on the season, with two games to go in 2013.
