LIRR Train Strikes Vehicle East Of Patchogue; Service Affected: MTA

No one was hurt, MTA spokeswoman says.

EAST PATCHOGUE, NY — A westbound train struck a vehicle at a Long Island Rail Road crossing east of Patchogue just before 8 a.m. on Monday, a Metropolitan Transportation Authority spokeswoman said.

It happened at Robinson Boulevard and South Country Road between the Patchogue and Bellport stations in East Patchogue.

No one was hurt, but train service along the Montauk Line was affected by the crash.

The 7:14 a.m. train from Speonk to Babylon was delayed east of Patchogue, and the 8:33 a.m. train from Babylon to Patchogue was canceled.

The investigation is ongoing.
